Go Back To Footloose

OCTOBER 31, 2025

Hi Footloose families!

First and foremost I want to say Happy Halloween & Dia De Los Muertos Eve to those who celebrate!

We hope everyone has an amazing night.

We had a bunch of kids last week ask if they could wear their costumes to rehearsal tomorrow and I wanted to let you guys know that’s totally ok if they want to. Please just have them pack extra clothes they can change into to dance tomorrow, as we will be learning a big dance number.

Just a heads up, we will be extending rehearsal to 6pm next week Nov 8th. If your child cant stay that late please let us know.

I also wanted to touch base with everyone on the volunteer opportunities as I know there were some that couldn’t stay for the meeting and sign up. I know some of you spoke to me word of mouth as well. As of right now we have these parents listed down to help in these areas. If for some reason I have your name down in the wrong section or I missed putting you down, please let me know.

If you’d like to help in any of these areas let me know. I’m trying to figure out organizing smaller meetings with each group of volunteers to brainstorm and get things rolling. Would love to get those dates/times out by next week.

Samarah and Peyton S please make sure you get your costume, prop & set packet from me tomorrow.

Looking forward to another great rehearsal,

Ms. Shana

What a great official first rehearsal with our cast!

We are so excited to work through everything in the months ahead.

This week’s homework:

  • Listen to tracks at least 3 times through

  • Practice and memorize the vocals that were worked through today.

  • Practice and clean the choreography learned today at least 5 times this week.

As I always say, 10 to 20 minutes of practice a day goes a long way.

There are two videos for your children to reference when practicing choreography today. One of just me (Ms. Shana) doing the choreography and one of everyone in the video. I encourage your children to focus mainly on the one of me so they can break down each part clearly.

Below is our cast list! We are so ecstatic about your child’s placement and we can’t wait for you to watch them shine in January!

Again if you have any questions please contact us or see us next Saturday before or after rehearsal. Have a great week everyone!

SEPTEMBER 19, 2025

Tomorrow is our official first rehearsal!
If your child was here last week, they hopefully have reviewed their script and tracks more than once this week. If your child was not, no worries! Their script is waiting for them at the Academy.

Reminder times flip flopped for tomorrow and we will be going from 12pm to 6pm. With that being the case we suggest packing your child a meal or snack with a water, for break time.
Along with that reminder everyone should be wearing sneakers(or have dance shoes packed) and clothes they can dance in.

On our schedule tomorrow:

—Casting announcement
—Individual meetings with each cast member on character development
—Cold Read
—Vocally learn opening number
—Block & choreograph opening number

If time allows we’ll also work on some team building exercises through theatre games.

Parents, be on the lookout for volunteer sign ups in the coming weeks. We are looking for parents to help with donations, fundraising, costumes, prop organizing, set design and building.

Our goal is to have our set pieces by Thanksgiving break so your children can practice the last month 1/2 with their pieces.

So excited for tomorrow!
If you have any questions, please feel free to message us back or see us in the morning.
