DAY 5 - Friday June 19th

Huzzah! Tomorrow’s the show!

For tomorrow morning your child must come at 9am in their all black base. If your child is only one character the whole show just have them wear something else other than their costume.

We’ll see you tomorrow morning at Salvation Army at 9am! Bring a lunch

Again, if you can stay after to help us load in our set and back out at Lochwood we would so appreciate it!

Tips for tonight and tomorrow:

If your child can avoid dairy, drink a hot decaf tea or hot lemonade with honey, and drink two big glasses of water tonight that will help their vocal cords immensely.

They still need to practice tonight but it’s important they all get tons of rest before tomorrow.

Reminder show starts at 3pm. We will open venue doors for seating at 2:45pm

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online here or at door!

Can’t wait for you all to see their hard work!

Cheers,

Ms. Shana, Ms. Iri and The Lochwood Staff

Day 4 - Thursday, June 18th

The show is blocked!

It is imperative that your child spends longer than normal memorizing and practicing.

Reminders:

  • If you can bring in your shirts decorated tomorrow please do!

  • We have a change of time on getting our sets to the Salvation Army. We’ll be loading up at 4:30 after drop off and heading over to Salvation Army by 5:10 at the latest to load into their gym. If you can help us it would be so appreciated!

SATURDAY -

  • Campers are to be at the venue at 9am! Show is at 3pm. Doors will open at 2:45pm.

Day 3 - Wednesday, June 17th

Day 3 went swimmingly!

Your kiddos are blocked up to page 63. Which means we just have the finale to go!

So proud of this group, they’ve been working really hard.

Tomorrow is a big day!

We will be starting to run the show with the performance tracks, instead of the guide vocals which means your kids really need to work on memorization of their lines and songs with the tracks. If you haven’t been playing it for them please go and head to our camp page tonight to access them. www.lochwood.info/nemokids

We will also be doing headshots tomorrow AM! Please send your child picture ready to camp. No black or white shirts and graphic tshirts. Bright colored or patterns tshirts or button downs are fine for their tops.

Costume shirts are due back to the studio Friday so we can start to get some visuals.

See you tomorrow!

Ms. Shana, Ms. Iri and The Lochwood Staff

DAY 1 - Monday, June 15th

Day 1 Complete!

We had a great day at camp today!

Went through our first cold read, learned “Dedicated Father” - ”Big Blue World” - “Dory’s Ditty” - ”Fish Are Friends Not Food” and blocked up till page 19.

The kids will have plenty of homework this week. The cast list is below on this page and on your child’s script. You can find all their resources here on our class page. We suggest 30 mins to an hr of practicing a night.

We should finish our blocking by Wednesday. It is our hope by Thursday your child knows all their lines, choreography and songs.

Costumes:

Mindy is going to Michael’s to buy shirts to be your child’s costume. We will send it home with them tomorrow. You can decorate them, find accessories and bottoms that fit your child’s character.

All children must have a black base outfit that they will wear so that quick changes can be done.

That can look like:

Girls: Black leotard, tshirt, or tank with Black leggings or bike shorts

Boys: Black tshirt or tank, black basketball or bike shorts

Shoes can be any sneaker or boot.

Volunteering opportunities:

•We need multiple trucks or a trailer to transport the set on Friday at 6pm .

If you are capable of helping us out with that please reach out.

•Strong individuals to load in Friday from Lochwood to Salvation Army and load out after show Saturday Salvation Army back to Lochwood.

If you have any questions please hit us up but if not we will see you tomorrow AM, and we’d be glad to answer any question if need be.

Thank you,

Shana Parrott, Iri Kim and The Lochwood Staff

What to Bring

  • A packed lunch each day

  • One snack each day

  • A water bottle (recommended)

Important Forms
Before the first day of camp, please be sure to complete the Camp Safety Form. This form is required for all campers and helps us provide a safe and successful camp experience.

Camp Student Hub
Our Camp Student Hub can be found at:

www.lochwood.info/summer

The Student Hub will be our primary source for daily communication throughout camp. You will also find important camp information, announcements, and songs from the show that students can begin listening to and familiarizing themselves with before camp begins.

Character Role Auditions
Students should submit a video audition by Friday, June 12th. Please look at the video from Ms. Shana on the Camp Student Hub. She explains what she is looking for.

Audition requirements:

  • 30–60 seconds of a pop or musical theatre song

  • A short comedic monologue

Please remember that auditions are simply a tool to help us place students in roles that best fit their strengths. Everyone who participates in camp will be involved in the show and will receive a role. We have many students who are new to musical theater, and auditions allow us to hear each student’s singing and speaking voice so we can create the best possible experience for everyone.

Saturday, June 20th at 3:00 PM
The Salvation Army of Seminole County
700 W. 24th St. Sanford, FL

See you soon!
